The young man and woman are accused of making transfers to FBK in 2021-2022. A criminal case was initiated against them for financing an «extremist» organization. Meanwhile, the FSB stated that they «stopped illegal activities». «During the operational search activities, it was established that these citizens voluntarily provided financial assistance to the NGO „FBK“, whose activities are directed against the security of the Russian Federation», — said the press service statement.
In the published video after the detention, the young man expressed remorse and spoke about his disappointment in FBK.
«I believe that this project is a scam. It has discredited itself. All its leaders are in warm Europe, not risking anything and setting up ordinary citizens who have stumbled and fallen under their influence, promises, tales, and so on. I regret what I have done», — said the detainee in the presence of law enforcement officers.
The suspects were given a travel restriction as a preventive measure.
