The FSB Public Relations Center reported the detention in Moscow of three Russian citizens and a native of Central Asian countries, whom the security forces consider a supporter of "Islamic State". According to the security forces, the native of Central Asia was recruited by a member of "Islamic State" Saidakbar Gulomov, while he acted "in the interests of Ukraine". He also directed the actions of the detainee through messengers, provided him with money, and using a drone, delivered components for an IED from Ukraine.
According to the FSB, Gulomov is involved in the murder of the head of the RCBZ troops of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, "which once again testifies to the close connection between the Kyiv regime and international terrorist organizations".
According to the investigation, the group planned to kill a senior officer of the Ministry of Defense. As noted in the special service's message, the crime was planned to be committed "in a socially dangerous way in one of the densely populated areas of the capital". According to FSB estimates, the power of the IED manufactured by the terrorists allowed for a continuous damage zone to people within a radius of up to 70 meters, including the perpetrator himself.
A case was initiated against the detainees for attempted terrorist attack by a group of persons and illegal acquisition and storage of explosives and explosive devices. The agency claims that the foreigner was supposed to be the perpetrator of the terrorist attack, and the detained Russians were to help him cover up the traces of the crime.
The security forces' message also states that the Russians detained in the case are involved in "administering subscriber terminals for traffic transmission, so-called SIM boxes and GSM gateways, used for organizing agent communication, coordinating fraudulent and other illegal activities of Ukrainian call centers".
