Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that Russia deliberately attacked a NATO country, Poland requested additional air defense systems from the Alliance

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that Russia deliberately attacked a NATO country. According to him, the Kremlin's claims of non-involvement are lies and typical Soviet practice. «The assessment of the Polish Air Force and NATO is that they did not deviate from the course but were deliberately directed», – Sikorski wrote on social network X.

On the night of September 10, Polish airspace was violated 19 times by Russian-made drones.

Sikorski reported that he had already held phone conversations with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, and OSCE Chairperson Elina Valtonen.

The minister rejected Moscow's version of Russia's non-involvement and the «Ukrainian provocation». «I know that Russia claims there is allegedly no evidence that these were Russian drones and even hints at a Ukrainian provocation. This was expected. Lies and denial are the standard Soviet response. The Kremlin mocks President Trump's peace efforts again», - the Polish Foreign Minister is convinced.

He also noted that Poland will continue to support Ukraine, and the Kremlin's attempt to «restore the last empire of Europe is doomed to fail».

Meanwhile, as reported by Bloomberg, Poland requested more air defense systems from NATO. According to the country's Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Sweden is already sending support, and it was previously promised by the Netherlands. The Czech Republic, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Finland, and the Baltic countries are also ready to help.

Radosław Sikorski stated that Poland needs Patriot systems. «Drones are not the only form of threat from Russia to our airspace», — he noted.

Also in London, the topic of returning Typhoon fighters to Poland, which recently left the country after a mission to protect airspace, is being discussed.
