In the Yaroslavl region, FSB officers detained two local residents on suspicion of treason, TASS reported, citing the Public Relations Center (PRC) of the FSB of Russia.
According to the security forces, a resident of Rybinsk and a resident of Yaroslavl «proactively established contact with representatives of Ukrainian intelligence services and, on the instructions of their handlers, collected and transmitted information about critical infrastructure facilities in the Yaroslavl region».
In the footage of the published video, one of the detainees says that a representative of Ukraine named Nikolai contacted him in May 2025 via Telegram and offered payment in cryptocurrency and assistance in obtaining a passport of one of the EU countries for transmitting data on air defense systems in the Yaroslavl region. According to the man, he was inspired by the SBU operation «Web», which resulted in the destruction of dozens of Russian bombers.
A criminal case was initiated against the detainees under the article on treason, and they face a prison term of up to life imprisonment.
