Vladimir Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov stated that Russia and the USA have agreed to hold a meeting in the 'near future'. The location has been 'in principle' agreed upon, but will be announced later, Ushakov added.
The day before, The New York Times, citing sources, wrote that Trump plans to meet with Putin next week, and then hold a trilateral meeting with him and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
Meanwhile, Ushakov noted that the Russian side did not consider the option of a trilateral meeting. Moscow proposed to Washington to 'primarily focus on preparing a bilateral meeting with Trump'.
'As for the option of a trilateral meeting, which was somehow mentioned in Washington yesterday, this option was simply mentioned by an American representative during a meeting in the Kremlin. But this option was not specifically discussed. The Russian side left this option completely without comment', said Putin's aide.
