UPD: In Smila, Cherkasy region, 11 people were already injured as a result of the night shelling, reported the regional military administration. Among the injured are two children. Preliminary reports indicate that three missiles and eight UAVs fell within the city.
Significant damage was done to 3 apartment buildings, private houses, 4 educational institutions, and a psychiatric hospital. The educational building of the National University of Food Technologies college was almost destroyed.
The Russians attacked Ukraine with a record number of missiles and drones. According to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia launched 477 strike drones and various types of decoy drones at Ukraine from Kursk, Shatalovo, Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Crimea. It is noted that more than 250 of them are "Shaheds".
Ukraine was also attacked with four aeroballistic missiles Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" from the airspace of the Tambov region, seven ballistic missiles "Iskander-M" from the Voronezh region and Crimea.
In addition, 41 cruise missiles Kh-101/"Iskander-K" were used in the attack, launched from the Saratov, Kursk, and Bryansk regions, five cruise missiles "Kalibr" from the Black Sea, and three S-300 surface-to-air guided missiles from the Kursk region.
In total, Ukrainian air defense forces neutralized 475 targets (249 were shot down, 226 were locally lost). According to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there were hits by enemy air attack means in 6 locations, and the fall of shot down debris in 8 locations.
During the defense against the Russian attack on the night of June 29, Ukrainian pilot F-16 Maksym Ustymenko tragically died, managing to divert the aircraft away from a populated area. The pilot used the full range of onboard weapons, shooting down seven air targets. During the engagement with the last target, his aircraft was damaged and began to lose altitude.
"Unfortunately, we have another painful loss now. This night, while repelling a massive enemy air attack, first-class pilot Lieutenant Colonel Maksym Ustymenko, born in 1993, died on an F-16 aircraft," the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
In the Kharkiv region, the Russians hit a car with people with a drone, which was moving along the road towards the village of Prykolotne. A 60-year-old man died, and a 59-year-old man received an explosive injury.
In the Cherkasy region, six people were injured, including a child, reported the head of the regional military administration Ihor Taburets. Preliminary reports indicate that three nine-story buildings and the local college of the National University of Food Technologies were damaged.
In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, debris fell on the territory of private households. In the village of Vasyutyn, the windows of the church and the wooden bell tower were damaged, and in Naraivka, a woman was injured and hospitalized.
In Zaporizhzhia, a production facility of one of the enterprises was damaged, but no people were injured, reported the head of the regional military administration Fedorov.
