Previously, he obtained Russian citizenship

The Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs of Latvia revoked the citizenship of the country from entrepreneur and former local police officer Dmitry Chelebiya, who is suspected of being involved in the organization of the attack on politician Leonid Volkov, reported the publication LSM.

Latvian journalists refer to Chelebiya as a "gray banker" and "courier" who assisted clients from Moscow in transferring money to the West through Latvian banks and was involved in the business of buying gold.

The State Security Service of Latvia clarified that it initiated the process of revoking Chelebiya's citizenship because they received information that, in addition to Latvian citizenship, he obtained Russian citizenship. As previously reported by The Insider**, he regularly visited Russia, sometimes entering the country for less than a day.

Andrey Matus, who handed over the archive of correspondence of Leonid Nevzlin**** to the "Anti-Corruption Foundation"***, claimed that Chelebiya helped obtain a fake passport for lawyer Anatoly Blinov, who is suspected of organizing the attack on Leonid Volkov.
