The Russian Ministry of Defense announced an exchange based on the "150 for 150" formula. According to the agency, Russian servicemen were transported to the territory of Belarus. They are provided with medical and psychological assistance, and they can contact their relatives.
The Ukrainian side reported 189 returned Ukrainian servicemen.
"The return of our people from Russian captivity is always very good news for each of us. And today is one of those days: our team managed to bring 189 Ukrainians home," wrote Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Among the released military are defenders of "Azovstal" and Mariupol, Chernobyl, Snake Island, as well as those who were captured in the Kursk region. Soldiers, sergeants, and officers returned from captivity.
According to Zelensky, these are national guardsmen, including "Azov" members, border guards, territorial defense members, warriors of the Naval and Armed Forces. And also two civilians who were captured in Mariupol.
