The US President also stated that Xi agreed to take tougher measures to stop the flow of chemicals used to produce fentanyl, in response to which the US will reduce tariffs on Chinese goods from 20% to 10%. «I have already agreed, as you know: I imposed a 20% tariff on China because of fentanyl supplies — it's a big tariff. But based on his statements today, I reduced it to 10%, so now the rate is 10% instead of 20%, and it takes effect immediately», Trump said, noting that on a scale from 0 to 10, he rates the meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at 12.
The US President also reported that the topic of the war in Ukraine was touched upon at the meeting. «Ukraine — we will work together. — said Trump. — We agreed that the parties are locked in a struggle, and sometimes, you have to think, you need to let them fight it out.
