Avito's Chief Analyst Sentenced to Nine Years in Prison on Charges of Treason

Moscow Regional Court Judge Natalia Valikova sentenced 37-year-old Maxim Nekrasov to 9 years of strict regime on charges of treason, reported a correspondent from «Mediazona»* from the courtroom. In addition, Nekrasov was fined 400 thousand rubles.

The details of the charges are unknown, but Nekrasov's bank card, his iPhone and MacBook, as well as disks and a memory card are listed as physical evidence.

Nekrasov was born in Kyiv, studied at MIPT and HSE, and before the criminal prosecution, he led the analytics group at Avito.

In the leaked border crossing database, it is indicated that in March 2022 Nekrasov went to Armenia, the publication notes. When he returned is unknown, but on November 13, 2024, he was detained in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, on an administrative charge of petty hooliganism: allegedly, the man was loudly using foul language on the street. 13 days later, the Meshchansky Court sent him to a pre-trial detention center already on a criminal case.
