The Prosecutor General's Office of Russia filed a new lawsuit in the Plast City Court of the Chelyabinsk region against the former owner of PJSC 'Yuzhuralzoloto Group of Companies', former deputy speaker of the regional legislative assembly from 'United Russia', businessman from the Forbes list Konstantin Strukov and his daughters, reported RBC.
The supervisory agency demands to transfer to the state revenue property worth 1.4 billion rubles, as well as funds amounting to 3.5 billion rubles, which, according to the investigation, were obtained through corruption.
According to the prosecutor's office, the businessman illegally gained control over YGK and ten more companies, using his positions and status in government bodies. They were registered under his daughter Alexandra Strukova, who holds Swiss citizenship, and trusted individuals.
In 1997, the businessman was appointed general director of the state enterprise 'Yuzhuralzoloto'. Later, the enterprise was transformed into a JSC, and then—through bankruptcy proceedings—transferred to a structure controlled by Strukov, PJSC 'Yuzhuralzoloto Group of Companies'. On July 11, the court confiscated Strukov's assets in the group of companies and other assets of him and his associates to the state revenue.
Earlier in October, the same court satisfied the claims in the lawsuit of the Prosecutor General's Office against Strukov for the recovery of 3.9 billion rubles as compensation for environmental damage resulting from an accident in April 2024 at the Svetlinsky deposit, which is developed by 'Yuzhuralzoloto GC'.
