The Kherson Regional Court, controlled by Russian authorities, sentenced 30-year-old Yulia Stanik to 12.5 years in a general regime colony in a criminal case of treason, the local prosecutor's office press service reported.
According to the prosecution, from September 2023 to January 2024, the woman made several donations to a foreign bank account, which, according to the FSB, went to "support the material and technical supply of Ukrainian armed formations".
However, which specific formations these were, as well as the amount of donations, is not specified.
According to "Important Stories"*, in the three years since the annexation of parts of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions, courts established by the occupying Russian authorities have issued at least 190 sentences for "treason," "espionage," and "confidential cooperation" with foreigners. From the start of the war until July 2025, courts in Russia and the occupied territories convicted 774 people on these charges. Before the war, no more than 16 people were convicted annually in Russia on such charges.
