An anti-fascist from Chita, who is serving a sentence for 'calls for extremism', was given a second sentence for talking with cellmates

2025.10.22

Reading to cellmates materials from his first criminal case was qualified by the investigation and court as 'calls for terrorism'

The military court in Chita sentenced anti-fascist Alexander Snezhkov*, previously convicted for 'calls for extremism' and 'justification of terrorism' in the case of the graffiti 'Death to the regime', to five years in a penal colony, reported his support group. Now he was accused of 'public calls for terrorism' for conversations with cellmates.

According to the investigation, Snezhkov allegedly 'called for terrorism' when he read excerpts from the materials of his first criminal case to his cellmates — in particular, an article previously published in little-known Telegram channels 'zlo75' and 'Shugany25'. The prosecution claimed that these words could 'inspire extremism' among his cellmates, most of whom were already under investigation for terrorism-related articles.

The judge partially combined the sentences from the two criminal cases, the prosecutor demanded 6.5 years in a penal colony for Snezhkov.

The first sentence — six years in a penal colony — was handed down to Alexander Snezhkov in April 2024. He and the 17-year-old anarchist Lyubov Lizunova* were found guilty in the case of 'calls for extremism' and 'justification of terrorism'. The reason for the prosecution of the teenagers was the graffiti 'Death to the regime' on one of the garages. In the case materials, FSB officers quote Telegram channels 'zlo75' and 'Shugany-25', which, according to the special service, were administered by the suspects. These channels positively mentioned arson attacks on military enlistment offices and sabotage on the railway, as well as protests against the war in Ukraine.

* Included in the list of 'terrorists and extremists'.
