HAMAS intends to maintain security control in Gaza during the transitional period, reported Reuters, a member of the group's political bureau, Mohammed Nazzal, adding that he cannot commit to the disarmament of the group. This position reflects the difficulties faced by US plans to ensure the cessation of war.
Nazzal also stated that the group is ready for a truce of up to five years to rebuild the devastated Gaza, with guarantees that Palestinians will be provided with "prospects and hope" for creating their own state in the future.
In an interview with Reuters from Doha, Nazzal justified public executions in Gaza, saying that during the war, "exceptional measures" are always taken, and those executed were criminals guilty of murder. However, no evidence was provided.
The office of the Israeli Prime Minister reported that Israel adheres to the plan, unlike the terrorist group. "HAMAS must release all hostages in the first stage. But it has not done so. It knows where the bodies of our hostages are. According to this agreement, Hamas must be disarmed. Without any 'ifs' and 'buts'. But this has not happened," the statement for Reuters said.
