The president of the non-profit partnership «International Association of Private Detectives» Andrey Matushkin became a defendant in a criminal case of treason, reported RBC by three sources in law enforcement agencies. In September, the detective was arrested for two months and is in one of the pre-trial detention centers in St. Petersburg.
According to the investigation, Matushkin was engaged in collecting information constituting a state secret and transmitting it abroad. In addition, he is suspected of collaborating with foreign intelligence and assisting in the implementation of its tasks on the territory of Russia. It concerns contacts with representatives of the Baltic countries, the source specified.
As the publication notes, citing one of the detectives, among the members of the association were representatives from the USA, the UK, and other Western countries.
According to the data on the association's website, its members are engaged in searching for stolen cars, finding hiding and missing people, covert outdoor surveillance, polygraph checks, checks of marital infidelity, and more.
