On the night of September 25 to 26, two drones were recorded over the Karlskrona archipelago in Sweden, writes the local portal SVT. The area where the drones were spotted is located a few kilometers from the naval base in Karlskrona.
The publication notes that the police went to the Möcklösund bridge and recorded the presence of an aircraft in the sky. Local residents also shared that they saw a drone flashing red and green lights.
Police representative Mattias Lundgren said that this drone is similar to those in Denmark. «It is a larger variant, similar to the one previously spotted over Denmark and Skåne. It is still unclear what happened, but we have filed a report for a violation of the Aviation Act», Lundgren said.
None of the flying objects could be shot down or seized, and there are no suspects in the police. However, the police see a clear connection with recent events in Denmark and Norway, where drones were notably spotted over Kastrup, the international airport in Copenhagen.
A few hours before the incident in Sweden, several drones were spotted in Germany over the state of Schleswig-Holstein.
The country's Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that law enforcement is analyzing these events, and the state police are strengthening protection against drones. Interior Minister Sabine Sütterlin-Waack stated that this incident is currently being investigated as a suspicion of espionage. It is noted that the origin of the drones and the purpose of their flights are still unknown.
