«Peace to All» is Undesirable

2025.09.18

The Prosecutor General's Office recognized the German fund for helping anti-war priests as «undesirable»

The fund's website states that its goal is to assist clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) who, after the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, were «removed from the staff, banned from service, or otherwise left without means of subsistence» due to their anti-war stance.

Among the founders of «Peace to All» are mentioned Archpriest Andrey Kordochkin*, priest Valerian Dunin-Barkovsky, musician Pavel Fakhrtdinov, and journalist Lana Thomas.

Andrey Kordochkin stated that the reason for the «attack» on the project is the «horror at the realization that one can think, reason, and act differently than commanded by people who have assumed the right to speak on behalf of the Motherland».

In April of this year, State Duma deputy Yana Lantratova demanded that «Peace to All» be recognized as an «undesirable» organization. In August, the Ministry of Justice declared Andrey Kordochkin a «foreign agent».

The registry of «undesirable» organizations has been maintained in Russia since 2015. Foreign or international organizations that, in the opinion of the authorities, pose a «threat to the foundations of the constitutional order of the Russian Federation, the country's defense capability, or state security» can be recognized as «undesirable». Such organizations are prohibited from conducting activities in the country.

* Recognized as a «foreign agent» in Russia.
