Since the beginning of the year, Russian bombers have "dropped" more than 110 bombs on Russian territory and occupied regions of Ukraine

2025.09.09

In 2024, at least 165 FAB bombs fell on these territories

As discovered by ASTRA*, in the last two weeks, five more bombs were "dropped" on Russian territory and occupied regions. On August 27, three FAB-500s, "unexpectedly released" from Russian planes, were found in occupied Makiivka. On August 30, a FAB was found in the village of Polevoy in the Novooskolsky district of the Belgorod region. On September 1, another Russian bomb fell on the Belgorod farmstead of Alexandrovka in the Shebekinsky district. In all cases, the bombs did not explode, and there were no casualties.

According to the publication, on August 17, a Russian bomb fell near a residential building near Belgorod, injuring three people, including a 13-year-old girl. The governor stated that they were injured by a UAV attack.

Currently, it is known about at least 111 bombs (104 FABs and 7 UMPBs) and three missiles that "fell" from Russian planes since the beginning of 2025. In 2024, at least 165 bombs fell on the regions of Russia and occupied territories of Ukraine.

To counter Ukrainian air defenses, the Russian army began equipping Soviet FAB bombs with UMPK systems. After such an upgrade, FABs are equipped with wings and satellite guidance, allowing bombs to be launched directly from Russian territory. However, due to the system's imperfections, the bombs do not always reach their targets and fall on Russian territories. Authorities hide these facts, attributing the damage and casualties to attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
