US President Donald Trump told reporters on Sunday that he will speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin. «Very soon. In the next couple of days. Listen, we're going to do it. The situation with Russia and Ukraine. We're going to sort it out», — said the US president.
He also commented on Russia's air attack from Saturday night to Sunday, which killed five people and injured about fifty. Russia sent over 800 drones to Ukraine, striking a government building in Kyiv. «I'm not thrilled with what's happening there. I believe we will sort everything out. But I'm not thrilled with them. I'm unhappy with everything related to this war», — Trump stated.
He also hinted that some European leaders will visit the White House at the beginning of this week. «Some European leaders will arrive in our country on Monday or Tuesday, and I think we will sort everything out», — the president told reporters after disembarking from Air Force One.
Donald Trump did not specify how he will «sort out» the war in Ukraine, earlier on Sunday he reported that his administration is ready to move to the second stage of sanctions against Russia.
