A former teacher was accused of participating in the activities of the party of Svetlana Lada-Rus 'Volya', which is banned in Russia

In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the court, at the request of the investigation, sent the teacher Vasilya Vershinina to a detention center for two months. Yesterday, searches were conducted at her home and at the homes of six other activists.

According to the investigation, since 2021, Vershinina participated in the 'extremist' and banned in Russia party of Svetlana Lada-Rus 'Volya'. The authorities believe she held discussions and distributed leaflets in support of the organization.

Vasilya Vershinina worked as a teacher, opposed raising the retirement age, and criticized the president. She was fined for 'discrediting the army' and later dismissed from school 'due to immoral behavior incompatible with teaching activities'.

On September 9, she planned to organize a rally of 1500 people in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, where she intended to collect signatures against the governor, demanding fair, transparent elections without a municipal filter.
