In several dozen regions, more than 80 criminal cases have been initiated for FBK donations

The Oktyabrsky District Court of Murmansk arrested 27-year-old resident of Olenegorsk, Dmitry Semyonov, for two months on charges of «financing extremism» due to donations to FBK, activist Violetta Grudina reported. Semyonov's detention became known this morning, and his home was searched.

On September 3, the Butyrsky District Court of Moscow sentenced 33-year-old Timur Magomedov to three and a half years in a general regime colony under the article on financing an «extremist organization» for FBK donations, noted the publication SOTA**. As the publication notes, in the capital, a real term sentence for FBK donations has been issued for the fifth consecutive time, while in the regions, courts mostly impose fines.

In April of this year, Magomedov and another Muscovite, Dmitry Marsov, were sent to a pre-trial detention center. Marsov was sentenced in July this year to three years in a colony for transferring one and a half thousand rubles to the fund.

According to SOTA, the hearings were held openly but were not covered at the request of the defendant's family. Relatives hoped that with minimal publicity, Magomedov would be given a punishment not related to imprisonment.
