According to the department, director Mark Zilberkvit illegally privatized "Music" by taking advantage of his official position

The Perovsky Court of Moscow arrested all the property of the publishing house "Music". This arrest included real estate, shares, and the company's intellectual property, reports "RIA Novosti". The owner of "Music", Mark Zilberkvit, who is a US citizen and a member of the Russian Academy of Arts, is also prohibited from leaving Russia.

"Music" is the largest sheet music repository in Russia. The Prosecutor General's Office believes that the publishing house was illegally privatized and demands its return to the state.

The court's ruling states that the management is prohibited from "completely or partially stopping production and technological processes".

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, Zilberkvit initiated the process of corporatization and subsequent privatization of the publishing house "with the aim of converting the property into his own ownership". For this purpose, in 2003 he founded LLC "Gamma-Press", and in 2004 LLC "Musical Publishing House P. Jurgenson", which at the time of creation did not possess any assets. In 2012, Zilberkvit organized a fictitious auction for the sale of 100% of the publishing house's shares and ensured the illegal participation and victory of LLC "Publishing House "Gamma-Press" in the auction, according to the department. At the same time, the transfer of the sheet music library to private ownership was directly prohibited by Rosimushchestvo. The transaction value at that time amounted to 8.4 million rubles.
