The Southern District Military Court sentenced Ukrainian servicemen Ivan Perepelytsia* and Oleksandr Matviychuk* to 20 and 13 years of imprisonment under terrorism articles, the court's press service told «Mediazona»**.
27-year-old Perepelytsia from the Cherkasy region of Ukraine was found guilty of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization and undergoing terrorism training. Perepelytsia will spend the first three years in prison, and the remaining term in a high-security colony. He was added to the Rosinfomonitoring list of «terrorists and extremists» in April 2025. At the same time,
29-year-old Oleksandr Matviychuk from Poltava was also added to the list.

Matviychuk and Perepelytsia were captured in December 2024 on the territory of the self-proclaimed DPR. According to the department, both were convicted «for crimes in the Kursk region against civilians».
In June, the Prosecutor General's Office reported that in the past six months, the 2nd Western District Military Court had issued 184 sentences to military personnel captured in the Kursk region.
