In Kyiv, the rescue operation continues for the second day after the Russian forces' strike on the night of August 28. The death toll continues to rise, with authorities currently reporting 23 dead.

According to the head of the city military administration, Timur Tkachenko, 225 residential buildings have been damaged, and for the first time since the start of the war, destruction has been recorded in all districts of the capital.

«Search and rescue operations are ongoing at the main location in the Darnytskyi district. There are people with whom there has been no contact since the attack. Therefore, unfortunately, the number of confirmed dead will increase. It is already known about 4 dead children, the youngest of whom is only two years old», — Tkachenko reported.

He also noted that with targeted strikes on residential buildings, educational institutions, diplomatic institutions, and hospitals, Russia is showing its «commitment to peace».

On the night of August 28, the Russians launched a massive strike on Ukraine using drones, ballistic missiles, Kh-101 cruise missiles, and Kinzhal missiles, with the Russian army using a total of 659 means of destruction.
