The FSB reported the detention in Crimea of a 54-year-old resident of the Volgograd region, who allegedly intended to blow up special service officers using explosives embedded in an Orthodox icon.
According to the special services, a representative of the SBU called the woman and, posing as an investigator of the FSB of Russia, informed her that a Ukrainian citizen, included in the list of terrorists, had taken out a loan in her name by proxy provided by the woman herself and transferred the funds to the needs of the Ukrainian armed forces. To avoid criminal liability, the woman secured several loans totaling more than three million rubles under the collateral of her apartment, which she transferred to the scammers.
«Subsequently, following the instructions of the Ukrainian handler, she arrived in the Republic of Crimea. There she picked up an Orthodox icon from a courier, in which an improvised explosive device was embedded» and brought it to the checkpoint, where she was detained.
