2025.08.20

Three people were detained, and three more were "eliminated" by security forces

The FSB reported on the interception of the activities of a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group in the Bryansk region. Three saboteurs were detained, and three more were eliminated, according to the FSB's Public Relations Center.

According to the agency, the men planned to carry out sabotage and terrorist attacks on Russian transport infrastructure facilities. Security forces claim that "the DRG members were trained with the participation of Western intelligence officers in Ukraine, as well as in Lithuania, Estonia, and Norway."

According to the FSB, they seized six American-made automatic assault rifles with silencers, sixteen kilograms of Czech-made plastic explosives, and "a large number of NATO-standard grenades and cartridges."

The special service claims that in September 2024, under the direction of a curator from the Ukrainian GUR, the saboteurs blew up railway tracks in the Belgorod region in the Novooskolsky district, and in May 2025 — a road bridge in the Vygonichsky district of the Bryansk region.
