The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, reported in the morning that he had already arrived in Washington, where he is meeting with Trump along with European leaders.
Donald Trump wrote before the meeting in Truth Social that Ukraine will not get either Crimea or NATO membership. "President of Ukraine Zelensky, if he wants, can end the war with Russia almost immediately, or he can continue to fight. Remember how it all started. The Crimea given away by Obama cannot be returned (this was 12 years ago, without a single shot), and no NATO membership for Ukraine! Some things cannot be changed!", Trump stated.
Zelensky noted in his Telegram channel that Ukraine should not be forced to give up its territories, including Crimea, as this would lead to the next war.
"We all equally want to end this war quickly and reliably. And the peace must be lasting. Not like it was years ago when Ukraine was forced to give up Crimea and part of our East — part of Donbas, and Putin used it simply as a springboard for a new attack. Or when Ukraine was supposedly given security guarantees in 1994, but it did not work. Of course, Crimea should not have been given away then just as after 2022 Ukrainians did not give away Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv. Ukrainians are fighting for their land, for their independence," stated the President of Ukraine.
The Financial Times newspaper, citing its sources, reported that Zelensky is ready to make concessions and agree to peace along the current front line, so as not to withdraw the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Donbas.
