The Department of Internal Affairs for the Siberian Federal District reported the detention of 14 and 15-year-old teenagers suspected of attempting to set fire to relay cabinets on a section of the West Siberian Railway.
According to the police, the schoolchildren attempted the arson at the suggestion of an unknown person who promised to pay them 20,000 rubles for it. They bought flammable substances and equipment, after which they tried to set fire to the relay cabinets on the Kargat — Ubinskoye section. Their actions did not affect train traffic, and the person who promised to pay them stopped communicating. Law enforcement claims that the teenagers are also involved in setting fire to a cell tower that occurred a few days ago. However, they were never paid the promised money.
A criminal case for attempted terrorism was initiated against the schoolchildren, and the court placed them under house arrest.
