The majority of victims and injured from missile strikes and drones — 40%

According to the calculations of the UN monitoring mission, in July of this year in Ukraine, 286 civilians were killed and 1388 were injured as a result of hostilities — this is a new anti-record since May 2022. Almost all these people — 98% — were killed or injured in territory controlled by Ukraine.

The number of victims from long-range missile and drone strikes in July decreased compared to June, but still amounted to 40%.

In the frontline zone and near the rear, as UN observers state, civilians most often die or are injured from Russian bomb strikes and short-range drones.

The human rights organization Human Rights Watch recorded at least 45 drone strikes by Russian forces in several areas of Kherson, which were targeted at civilians and civilian objects, including infrastructure. Video recordings of these and other strikes on civilians and civilian objects show that the drone operator was aware of the nature of the target, indicating a deliberate strike.
