Ukrainian drones attacked Volgograd on Wednesday night, according to local Telegram channels, the target was once again a refinery.
According to the channel «Volgograd», 20 drones participated in the attack, some were shot down in the region and over the south of the city.
Rosaviatsiya reported the suspension of flights at Volgograd airport.
The governor of the Volgograd region, Andrey Bocharov, stated that debris from a downed drone fell on the roof of a 16-story building in the Traktorozavodsky district in the north of Volgograd — this is 30-40 km from the refinery. According to the governor, evacuation of residents is underway, and there are no casualties, he said.
The Volgograd refinery was already attacked by Ukrainian drones on the night of January 31 and the night of February 3 this year. After that, according to media reports, it stopped operations.
Also, on the night of August 13, Ukrainian drones attempted to attack the refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban in the Krasnodar Krai. Telegram channels reported on the work of air defense in the area of the enterprise, the regional operational headquarters stated that debris from a drone fell on the territory of the refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, igniting a «Gazelle».
Ukrainian drones have attacked the refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban several times over the past year and a half.
