Since the beginning of this year, 172 terrorist attacks have been prevented in Russia, including on critical infrastructure and against Russian military forces, reported «Interfax» citing the statement of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC). 64% of those detained — youth, and the number of individuals from «Central Asian countries» is also growing.
According to the statement, since the beginning of the year, nine armed attacks on educational institutions have been prevented.
The FSB Director, NAC Chairman Alexander Bortnikov noted a significant increase in the number of terrorist-related crimes, committed by individuals who «fell under the influence of Ukrainian special services and neo-Nazi organizations».
At the same time, as noted by the channel «To be continued»* the statistics also include victims of fraudsters who pose as law enforcement officers, but the deceived individuals are later accused of crimes under «terrorist» articles.
