Ukrainian Drones Attacked Stavropol

2025.08.12

Local public pages report that the target was the «Monocrystal» plant, which produces components for optoelectronics

In Stavropol public pages, users are posting videos of drone strikes, claiming that the «Monocrystal» plant, which produces components for optoelectronics, was attacked. A fire started on the premises of the enterprise.

The Governor of the Stavropol Territory, Vladimir Vladimirov, did not report anything about the attack on the plant, only writing about the introduction of a «drone danger» regime.

Synthetic sapphire produced at the «Monocrystal» plant is used in optical systems, protective elements of sensors and lasers, including military devices. It is also used in components of the aerospace, instrument-making, and other high-tech industries, including the military field.

Meanwhile, according to Bloomberg, a Russian oil refinery in Saratov stopped receiving oil after drone attacks on Sunday. This refinery has a design capacity of about 140,000 barrels of oil per day. The agency notes that its prolonged shutdown could affect domestic gasoline supplies just at a time when fuel demand is showing seasonal growth.
