The Central District Court of Chita fined a local resident 500 thousand rubles for sending donations to FBK, reported the human rights project «OVD-Info»**. He was found guilty of financing extremist activities.
According to the court, the Chita resident transferred two thousand rubles monthly to FBK. After the organization was recognized as extremist, from August 5, 2021, to February 5, 2022, he transferred 14 thousand rubles. The man fully admitted his guilt.
The court allowed the Chita resident to pay the fine in installments over ten months. Additionally, they decided to recover another 14 thousand rubles «as confiscation of funds intended to support the activities of an extremist organization».
According to «Mediazona»**, law enforcement initiated 76 cases in 38 regions for donations to the Anti-Corruption Foundation made after the organization was banned.
