The FSB Public Relations Center reported on the prevention of an assassination attempt on the director of a defense enterprise in Belgorod. According to the agency, the man contacted a representative of one of the "banned pro-Ukrainian terrorist organizations" via Telegram. He was instructed to go to the Trubchevsky district of the Bryansk region and pick up a load of firearms and explosives dropped by a drone. After that, he was supposed to kill the head of one of the defense industry enterprises, but he was detained.
According to law enforcement, the detainee confessed to attempting an assassination on one of the regional administration leaders. In addition, he said he transmitted to Ukraine data on the location of the "Sever" group fighters in the Kharkiv region, their military equipment, and electronic warfare and air defense systems. "Coordinated missile and artillery strikes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the locations of Russian units," the detainee said on video.
A criminal case was initiated against the man under the article on state treason.
