In July, residents of Russia faced at least 2099 Internet outages, reported the specialized project «Na Svyazi». Since May, the Internet in various regions of the country has been shut down at least 2830 times. In May, there were 69 shutdowns, in June — 662.
Mainly, partial Internet shutdowns occur, where in some parts of the city the Internet works, and in others — it does not. However, by the end of the month, information emerged about a complete mobile Internet shutdown in certain localities. For example, residents of the Krasnoyarsk region complain about a complete lack of Internet for five days, although sometimes they report that the connection is briefly restored in some areas.
The project notes that the authorities explain the Internet restrictions as security measures, but at the same time, the disconnection occurs independently of the threat of UAV attacks, including in regions where a drone attack danger regime has never been declared.
Meanwhile, the authorities recommend stocking up on cash and preparing for long-term communication problems.
