The number of victims of the Russian strike on Kyiv on the night of July 31 has increased to 26 people. Among them — three children, rescuers reported.

«During the night and morning, rescuers pulled 10 bodies from the rubble of a residential building in the Sviatoshyn district, including a 2-year-old child», — reported the State Emergency Service. Previously, it was known about the deaths of a six-year-old boy and a 17-year-old teenager.

As of the morning of August 1, it is also known that 159 people were injured as a result of the shelling, including 16 children. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that this is the largest number of injured children since the start of the war.

Ukraine has appealed to the UN to urgently convene a Security Council meeting in connection with the latest Russian strike on Kyiv.

Meanwhile, on the night of August 1, the Russian army shelled the Zaporizhzhia district, hitting residential buildings.

According to the head of the regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, a 63-year-old man died as a result of a hit on a private house. Three more people were injured.
