On the night of July 31, Russia launched a combined attack on Kyiv with missiles and drones. Numerous houses in the city were damaged, an apartment building entrance was destroyed, and a school, kindergarten, and children's hospital were damaged. Volodymyr Zelensky published a video of the residential building destroyed by a missile.
As a result of the drone raid, the Solomianskyi district of the city suffered the most. Debris fell on houses, non-residential premises, and cars, and there was a hit on one of the higher education institutions.
«As of 6:30 - one dead and more than 20 injured. Among the injured are three police officers who were responding to a call. Two injured people were rescued from the rubble», reported the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko.
Later, the mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitali Klitschko, clarified that the number of injured increased to 43, 26 of whom were hospitalized. According to the head of the city military administration, Timur Tkachenko, the number of dead increased to two people.
The State Emergency Service reported that among the injured are three police officers who were responding to a call.
