U.S. President Donald Trump decided to shorten the time given to Russia to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine to ten days, announcing that the countdown starts today. He mentioned this while speaking to journalists aboard Air Force One before departing from Scotland.
«Ten days — and then we will impose tariffs and other measures. Although I am not sure it will affect Russia, since [Putin] is probably intent on continuing the war», — he said.
Additionally, Trump expressed dissatisfaction that he has not yet received any response from Russia to his ultimatum.
«I have not received any response from Putin. It's a pity. I told you, 5 thousand people die every week. Now it's 7 thousand <...> Bombs are falling on people's heads. A terrible war», — the U.S. President reported.
Today Dmitry Peskov stated that the Kremlin has «taken note» of the shortened ultimatum period. «The special military operation continues, and we remain committed to the peace process to resolve the conflict around Ukraine and ensure our interests in the course of this resolution», — Peskov stated.
