Wagner PMC Mercenary, Returned from Ukraine, Arrested for Murder of Chief Doctor of Children's Hospital in Khakassia

2025.07.10

Previously convicted for drug trafficking, but left the colony for the war in Ukraine

In Abakan, the chief doctor of the children's hospital, Natalia Topakova, was murdered. According to the investigation, a former convict and member of Wagner PMC, who recently returned from the war, is involved in the crime, writes Astra*.

The investigation believes that in the evening, the chief doctor was returning home, and a familiar man was waiting for her near the entrance — he had previously tried to court her but was rejected. He convinced Topakova to let him into the apartment, after which he attacked her, knocked her unconscious, and then drowned her in the bathtub, attempting to pass off the murder as an accident.

The next day, when the woman did not show up for work, her relatives broke into the apartment and found the body in the bathtub. Initially, the cause of death was called cardiac arrest, but later it was noticed that money and jewelry were missing from the house. The killer also transferred 94,000 rubles to his account by unlocking the victim's phone through Face ID.

Mikhail K. is suspected of committing the crime. Previously, the man was convicted for drug trafficking, but did not serve his full term and left the colony for Wagner PMC. Almost immediately after the murder, he left for Primorsky Krai. A month later, the man was detained in Partizansk.
