The Arbitration Court of the Vologda Region ordered the dismantling of the Stalin monument, which was installed on the territory of the Vologda Link house-museum in December 2024, reported 'Caution, news'. The money spent on installing the monument should be returned to the entrepreneur Ekaterina Lozhenitsyna, who was responsible for its installation. She, in turn, must return 10.5 million rubles to the budget of the Vologda Region.
The lawsuit for the dismantling of the monument was filed by the prosecutor's office, which found an overpricing of the contract and a violation of competition protection laws.
Lozhenitsyna told journalists that she plans to file an appeal, but for now, the monument will not be demolished. Earlier, the governor of the Vologda Region, Georgy Filimonov, stated that the prosecutor's demand was 'a strange fuss over nothing'. According to Filimonov, only 'legal nuances of the document processing procedure, not the fate' of the monument, which 'will continue to stand', are being discussed now.
