According to the security forces, a «supporter of an organization recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia» planned to blow up a railway bridge using an improvised explosive device stored in his cache.
The FSB claims that after committing the terrorist act, the Russian citizen planned to go to Ukraine and «participate in hostilities».
The cache contained a ready-to-use IED weighing 11 kg, a Makarov pistol, and ammunition for it, as well as other evidence, the FSB reported. A criminal case has been initiated on charges of illegal trafficking of explosives and explosive devices and manufacturing explosives, and the issue of initiating a criminal case on preparation for a terrorist act is being considered.
