The Prosecutor General's Office demanded to recognize as 'extremist' and ban the 'International Satanism Movement'

Such a movement does not exist, but courts have previously banned non-existent LGBT* and AUE* movements

According to the Ministry of Justice, the relevant lawsuit was filed by the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov. The court session will be held on July 22, and the lawsuit will be considered by Judge Oleg Nefedov, who made the decision to ban the non-existent 'International LGBT Movement' in 2023.

Earlier in the State Duma, Satanism was called 'one of the greatest threats to humanity': 'After all, we have banned LGBT. And Satanism is no better, it is worse,' said Deputy Andrey Kartapolov. Previously, the head of the executive committee of the public movement 'Cultural Front of Russia' Vyacheslav Leontyev claimed that 'Nazism at the beginning of its development did not commit such crimes as our Satanists do.'

In January, Patriarch Kirill also demanded to 'ban Satanism in Russia as an extremist movement.' 'It is unacceptable that various satanic sects, part of the international satanist movement, freely conduct their rituals in our country, recruit youth, openly register their groups and communities on social networks. Let us consider: in the zone of the special military operation, on the front line, our fighters are ready to give their lives for values that are clearly trampled by Satanists!' he said.

The 'International Satanism Movement' does not exist, but Russian courts have previously banned non-existent movements, such as LGBT and AUE.
