As a result of the attack by Ukrainian drones, a pensioner who was in a two-story house in the village of Dolotinka, Rostov region, at the time of the strike, died, reported the acting governor of the region, Yuri Slyusar. According to him, due to the fall of the drone, the ceiling slab of an eight-apartment house collapsed. The official noted that the deceased had previously worked as a teacher. After the attack, 20 residents were evacuated from the building.
According to Slyusar, in Azov, the explosion of the drone damaged windows in an apartment building, and debris from another drone fell on a stadium.
In the city of Shakhty, due to the strike, almost two thousand private homes with six thousand residents were left without electricity.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, a total of 26 drones were shot down by air defense systems over the Rostov region during the night. Another 12 drones were shot down in the Kursk region, six in the Belgorod region, three in the Oryol region, and one in the Lipetsk region, but the authorities of these regions did not report any consequences.
Meanwhile, the governor of the Moscow region, Andrey Vorobyov, reported that on the morning of July 4, four drones fell in the Sergiev Posad district. As a result, two people were injured: a 60-year-old man received a closed head injury, and a 40-year-old man sustained an open neck wound and a chest contusion.
The head of the Sergiev Posad district, Oksana Erokhanova, reported that during the attack, a substation caught fire, leaving 42 thousand people without electricity.
