UPD: On Thursday afternoon, Russian occupation forces launched a ballistic strike on Odessa, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuries to three others.
«A strike was carried out on the port infrastructure with a cluster ballistic missile, which is banned. Unfortunately, two people were killed, three people were injured, and they are currently receiving the necessary medical assistance on site,» reported the head of the regional military administration, Oleg Kiper.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine - Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, Oleksiy Kuleba, noted that the Iskander missile hit the area of one of the berths of the Odessa seaport. At that time, people were working on the berth, unloading metal from a foreign vessel under the flag of São Tomé and Príncipe.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, a dockworker and a truck driver were killed. Six more were injured. Among them are employees of one of the port operators and a driver. Two others are Syrian citizens, members of the crew of a civilian vessel. All necessary assistance is being provided to the people.
After the completion of rescue operations following the night attack, authorities reported that the number of injured increased to six people.
During the attack on residential areas of Odessa, one of the Russian drones hit a nine-story building, 50 people were evacuated, five people were injured, including two children, local authorities reported.
The head of the regional military administration, Oleg Kiper, clarified that as a result of the attack, six apartments were completely destroyed, and another 36 were partially damaged. Among the injured are a seven-year-old boy and a nine-year-old girl, who were hospitalized. Rescuers used special equipment to free ten people who were trapped on the upper floors.
Russian troops launched 52 drones at Ukraine tonight, 40 of them were destroyed by air defense forces, reported the Air Forces.
