The head of Udmurtia, Alexander Brechalov, confirmed the attack by Ukrainian drones on one of the industrial facilities in Izhevsk. According to him, several people were injured due to the attack. Brechalov did not specify the exact number of injured or which enterprise was targeted by the drones.

Meanwhile, ASTRA, citing a source in the rescue services, reports at least nine injured.
The Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant "Kupol" is one of the largest enterprises in the Russian defense-industrial complex. The plant produces short-range anti-aircraft missile systems of the "Tor" family and onboard equipment for "surface-to-air" missiles, as well as manufactures civilian products.
After the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in July 2023, according to Reuters, the plant began producing "Harpia-A1" strike drones, using engines and components from China.
On December 16, 2022, "Kupol" was included in the EU sanctions lists, as it "is responsible for supporting actions that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of Ukraine, particularly for supplying weapons to the Russian Armed Forces used in the attack on Ukraine". On similar grounds, the plant is included in the sanctions lists of the USA, Canada, Ukraine, and Switzerland.
In November 2024, Ukrainian drones already attacked "Kupol", injuring a worker at that time.
