The Vytegorsky District Court fined a 19-year-old resident of the town of Vytegra 30,000 rubles under the article for 'failure to report a crime', the joint press service of the courts of the Vologda region wrote on the Telegram channel.
According to the court, in 2024 the young man did not inform law enforcement about the 'illegal activities' of his acquaintance, who was preparing to commit a terrorist attack and 'participated in the activities of a terrorist organization'.
It is likely referring to Anton D. from Vytegra, who was sentenced in December 2024 to eight years in a case involving leaflets, graffiti, and plans to set fire to a military recruitment office. During the investigation of the criminal case, he informed about acquaintances who knew about his actions and intentions to commit a terrorist attack.
One of the friends who did not report the impending crime was already found guilty on June 10 for not reporting the crime, and he was fined 30,000 rubles.
'Due to friendly relations, the second friend also did not report the impending crime to the authorities,' the court statement said. It is also noted that the defendant admitted his guilt.
