Employees of the Center 'E' of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Irkutsk region detained a 35-year-old resident of Shelekhov, who recorded an 'offensive video' with words about Russia Day, the regional police department reported.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs indicated that in the recording, the Irkutsk resident 'uttered discrediting words towards the armed forces of the Russian Federation and spoke negatively about Russia Day', and the woman's actions are being 'legally assessed'.

The authorities claim that during the detention, she did not open the door, citing a lock malfunction, 'behaved inappropriately', and said she 'might harm herself'. The apartment door was broken down, after which she was taken to a psychiatric dispensary for alcohol and drug tests.

Earlier, the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to report to him on the progress of the investigation related to the 'illegal statements' of the woman in the Irkutsk region.

On June 12, Maria Makhmutova published a story on her Instagram with 5.3 thousand followers, featuring a video from a car where she criticized the celebration of Russia Day and participants in the war in Ukraine.

One of the first to draw attention to this recording was the propaganda channel Russia Today. Members of the 'Call of the People' movement complained about the blogger to the Investigative Committee and the Prosecutor General's Office.

On June 13, Makhmutova published a new video in which she said she called the police herself because she started receiving threats.
