On June 12, independent media and FBK* held the marathon «You Are Not Alone», which raised over 12 million rubles to support Russian political prisoners and their families.
The collected funds will go to the families of political prisoners — for paying lawyers, food, medicine, and travel for visits. Fundraising continues, and donations can be made here.
The Solidarity Marathon «You Are Not Alone» was held for the third time. Last year, more than 24 million rubles were raised in one day of the marathon, and over 45 million rubles throughout the year. Thanks to the marathon, more than 300 political prisoners and their families received assistance.
According to «OVD-Info»**, since the start of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine, 20,101 people have been detained in Russia for anti-war protests. Criminal charges were brought against 1,171 people, and administrative protocols under the article on «discrediting» the army were drawn up for more than 11,000 people.
Today, 1,605 people are in custody for political reasons.
