Yuri Dmitriev was sent to solitary confinement for five days

2025.06.12

The reason was "poor performance of exercises during morning exercises"

Employees of colony No. 18 in Mordovia sent convicted historian Yuri Dmitriev to solitary confinement for five days for "poor performance of exercises during morning exercises," reported "Memorial"*.

According to human rights activists, over the past month, 69-year-old Dmitriev has repeatedly asked a doctor to exempt him from exercises, which are impossible for him due to dizziness and weakness, but he was refused. Meanwhile, as "Current Time" writes, doctors have not yet diagnosed him because tests conducted last year have disappeared.

In January, Dmitriev was already sent to solitary confinement on the same grounds.

In December 2021, the court sentenced Yuri Dmitriev to 15 years in prison. He was found guilty of producing child pornography, lewd acts, and possession of weapons. The historian denies all charges. Human rights activists believe that all cases against him are fabricated by the authorities as revenge for his human rights activities.
