UPD: Lev Shlosberg was sent to a temporary detention facility, reported the Pskov branch of the 'Yabloko' party. A measure of restraint will be chosen for the politician tomorrow.
The criminal case was initiated due to the politician's debates with historian Yuri Pivovarov on the YouTube channel 'Zhivoy Gvozd'. In these debates, Pivovarov opposed a peace agreement unfavorable to Ukraine, while Shlosberg insisted on the immediate cessation of hostilities.
According to the investigation, Shlosberg 'discredited' the army by posting the debate video on 'Odnoklassniki'. The politician insists that he did not publish this video and does not administer this page. A search was also conducted today in the apartment of Shlosberg's 96-year-old father and in the office of the Pskov branch of the party, where the authorities seized equipment.
As reported by the state channel RT, searches are being conducted in Lev Shlosberg's apartment, related to a criminal case on the repeated 'discrediting' of the Russian army. The basis for the second criminal case is still unknown. In July 2024, Shlosberg was fined 30,000 rubles for reposting Arnold Schwarzenegger's appeal to Russians, which now allows for criminal prosecution under this article.
In October 2024, searches were already conducted in Shlosberg's apartment, and a criminal case was initiated against the politician under the article for evading the duties of a 'foreign agent'. He was under a travel ban. A few weeks later, the authorities conducted a search in the office of the Pskov 'Yabloko' as well.
In November 2024, Shlosberg was detained at Pskov airport, but then released, with equipment being confiscated.
* Recognized in Russia as a 'foreign agent'.
